Sweet Tooth







Brown-eyed Susans



                                            *1 1/2 cup sifted flour                                              *1/3 cup sugar
                                            *1/3 cup non-fat dry milk                                         *1 Tbs grated orage rind
                                            *1 1/2 tsp baking powder                                         *3/4 cup orage juice 
                                            *1/2 tsp salt                                                             *1 egg
                                            *1/2 cup melted butter                                              *2 tsp vanilla
                                                                                       *6 oz chocolate chips


Preheat oven at 375°F and grease a 9" pan.

Sift flour, milk, baking powder and salt in a big bowl. Add sugar, orange rind and juice, egg, vanilla and butter. Stir with a wooden spoon until combined and then add the chocolate chips.

Pour into prepared pan and bake for about 25 mns. Cool a little while before icing.

Orange Icing:
Combine 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 Tbs orange rind and 3 Tbs orange juice (might need more).

Serves 6










Raspberry Bars


*1 1/4 c Flour                    *1/2 c Soft butter
                                                                *1/2 c Sugar                      *1/2 c Raspberry jam

Crumb Topping: Mix 2/3c flour, 6 Tbs soft butter, 6 Tbs sugar, 1/2 chopped walnuts or pecans and 1/2tsp vanilla until crumbly.


Combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter and mix with fingers until crumbly. Press into shallow dish and bake for 20 mns at 350°. Spread with and top with crumb topping. Bake a futher 15 mins. Cool before cutting into squares.

Serves 6.
